EMERGING EUROPE

AND THE UNITED KINGDOM

TOWARDS 2030

A unique initiative exploring sustainable future relations

between the emerging Europe region and the United Kingdom

SURVEY

HYBRID CONFERENCE

REPORT

WHY

To strengthen the debate on sustainable future relations between emerging Europe and the United Kingdom and connect businesses.

The United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union creates both challenges and opportunities for emerging Europe’s economies.

The UK is the region’s key economic partner. The UK’s share in Poland’s exports for example is second only to Germany, and in October the UK and Ukraine signed a historic post-Brexit free trade deal. We should also remember that millions of Eastern Europeans call the UK home.

The discussion will focus on key areas of collaboration between the region and the United Kingdom: technology and innovation, health and life sciences and post-pandemic reform.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

SURVEY

Emerging Europe will carry out a survey involving businesses, sector associations, the diplomatic community and think tanks.

The survey is also open to entrepreneurs who want to share their views. It covers opportunities and threats impacting the future political and economic relations between the region and the UK.

Survey launch date:

February 2021.

CONFERENCE

Emerging Europe is organising a hybrid conference, online and live from studio — featuring business leaders and media representatives.

The discussion will be centred around the region’s collaboration with the United Kingdom in three areas: innovation and technology, health, life sciences and post-pandemic recovery

The conference will take place in March 18 2021.

REPORT

Emerging Europe will produce a report including survey findings as well as executive summaries of the discussions carried out at the conference.

The report will be distributed to decision-makers in the emerging Europe countries and in the UK — and will also be available upon request.

Full report release date:

April 2021.
