BACKGROUND
To trigger more discussions about sustainability and sustainable development in the region, in 2018, Emerging Europe launched the Future of Emerging Europe programme, an ongoing initiative to increase awareness and understanding of ESG principles, building on the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations in 2015.
The Future of Emerging Europe programme consists of editorial content published throughout the year, the Summit and Awards (hosted in Brussels) and reports, such as the Sustainability Report you are about to get a copy of.
The report analyses the status quo as far as applying ESG principles in emerging Europe is concerned, summarises the discussions with experts, looks at challenges and opportunities and outlines key recommendations for organisations based in the region.
