BACKGROUND

Emerging Europe: The Future of Travel

Emerging Europe’s Future of Travel report is the first comprehensive survey of the travel and tourism sector across all 28 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The report, scheduled to be published in Q4 2021, will look at every aspect of the current travel and tourism landscape, with a particular focus on how Covid-19 will change the industry.

It will offer deep insight from and for all stakeholders, looking at how they will need to reconfigure their investment and promotion strategies and proposals to make the most of the opportunities that the future of travel will offer, as well as meet the many challenges that now confront the sector.

The report will also include a full overview of the current tourism promotion strategies of all 28 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and offer insight into how these can be improved.

The report sets the agenda for the future of travel. You can put your business or organisation at the heart of that future.

An Essential Guide

Unlike most reports, which are focused on hard data, the Future of Travel in emerging Europe report will combine essential research with editorial analyses featuring views and intelligence from tens of travel and tourism experts, and key industry players from all over the world.

This will provide unmatched, impartial and extremely valuable insight for all investors in travel and tourism, as well as for countries, regions and cities which are looking to boost their profile as tourism destinations.

We will take readers on a 200-page journey that moves beyond the here and now and presents a genuine vision of the future of travel and tourism throughout emerging Europe.

Leadership

The team producing the report is led by Craig Turp-Balazs, the editor of Emerging Europe.

Craig was previously, for almost two decades, the editor of In Your Pocket, Europe’s largest publisher of locally-produced travel guides, which has a particular focus on the emerging Europe region.

Craig has advised several countries in the region, as well as individual regions, town and cities, on their tourism promotion strategies and can offer unique insight into what works.
